Self-Institutional Performance Evaluation

The Institutional Research/Quality Enhancement Cell (IR/QEC) of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST), Karachi conducted a three-day Self-IPE (Self-Institutional Performance Evaluation) Visit from April 26th - 28th, 2023. The review panel comprised of the following members:

1. Mr. Syed Waqar-Ul-Hasan, Director QEC and Regulatory Affairs at Salim Habib University (External evaluator)

2. Dr. Riaz Ahmed Shaikh, Professor/ Dean of Social Science & Education Department/ Chair Doctoral Committee/Head of Sindh Studies (Internal evaluator)

3. Dr. Syed Sajjad Hussain Rizvi, Associate Professor, HOD Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, Editor Journal of Independent Studies and Research Computing (JISR-C) (Internal evaluator)

4. Ms. Riffat Mughal, Assistant Professor/ Focal Person – NBEAC (Internal evaluator)

The IR/QEC team at SZABIST, Karachi campus facilitated the Review Panel by sharing the University Portfolio Report and University Wide Data of the year 2022-2023. The Senior Manager IR/QEC, Mr. Atif Shahab Butt presented the review panel about the overall performance of SZABIST. The panel closely reviewed all the 11 standards of IPE Report along with provided evidence and discussed their queries regarding the policy matters with relevant Heads of Administrative and Academic departments. During the 3-day visit, the Review Panel visited Class Rooms, Bio labs, CS labs, Library. They met with random students and faculty members to collect their feedback about the Academic and Administrative facilities and Overall working environment and teaching-learning process respectively. An exit meeting was conducted at the end of day 3 where the Review Panel met with Prof. Dr. Altaf Mukati, Vice President Academics and Registrar, SZABIST in which they acknowledged and appreciated the work done by IR/QEC in presenting all the relevant data and evidence. The external evaluator particularly shared his overall feedback on the Performance of the Institute and warmly wished SZABIST to continue its services for providing quality education to future leaders.
